Cleveland’s North Coast Waterfront Development Corporation (NCWDC) is launching North Coast Yard—a pop-up lakefront public space opening this summer on the city-owned lot next to the Steamship Mather, north of Browns Stadium. This project is a key step in creating a vibrant, equitable waterfront that connects people with nature and the city, building on the community vision established in the North Coast Master Plan. This seasonal project will activate our lakefront with engaging programming, local food and drinks, and plenty of space to just relax and enjoy the view.

Think of it as Cleveland’s backyard on the lake — where views meet vibes, and everyone’s invited.

What to Expect

While the full transformation of Cleveland’s lakefront unfolds through the North Coast Master Plan, this space is our chance to test bold ideas, foster collaboration, and build momentum for what’s ahead.

Running May through September, North Coast Yard will bring Cleveland’s downtown lakefront to life with engaging programming, local food and drinks, and plenty of space to relax, connect, and explore. Created from temporary materials as a summer destination, North Coast Yard is a welcoming and free space open from dawn to dusk where you can:

  • Grab drinks and bites from local vendors on the weekend, or bring your own picnic any day
  • Enjoy live music and DJs
  • Play yard games with a lake view
  • Meet friends for Lake Erie sunsets or big group meals and gatherings
  • Experience special programming and free events throughout the season
